Choosing the right microphone

How to select the best microphone to get results from ambient listening.

Updated over 4 months ago

Choosing the right microphone will help pick up who is speaking and detail every part of the conversation.

Your transcription is one of the key pieces of data that Oqea Frame uses to generate a clinical analysis, so it is worth knowing the hardware that is best performing to support you using this tool.

What microphone is best?

Look for omni-directional, long distance microphones. This means it will be better at picking people talking from the other side of the room.

We've found success using the Audio-Technica ATR4697 - You can find some available for purchase here.

How to connect a microphone

  1. Connect your microphone to your device

  2. Open your website browser

  3. Log in to Oqea Frame

  4. Initiate a Telehealth or In-Person appoinment on Step 3 of any patient

  5. When asked to allow your browser to use your microphone, choose Allow
